Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for an Oracle Golden Gate DBA- Azure/Banking and offers an excellent opportunity to lead database support initiatives in a fast-paced, collaborative setting. The successful candidate will contribute to critical activities such as database migrations, performance tuning, incident resolution, and implementing robust security measures, all while working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of and resolve complex production database incidents promptly and effectively.
- Communicate technical issues clearly to stakeholders and business partners, ensuring transparency and understanding.
- Support and adhere to organizational standards for change control, database security, and compliance policies.
- Conduct root cause analysis on recurring incidents and identify opportunities for service improvement.
- Participate in scheduled disaster recovery and system change management activities.
- Support and partake in on-call rotational support, handling urgent incident response outside regular hours.
- Collaborate with Solution Design, DB Engineering, Information Security teams, and external vendors on database projects.
- Install, configure, and maintain Oracle and SQL Server databases, optimizing performance through tuning and monitoring.
- Implement security features such as Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), Data Redaction, Database Vault, and auditing protocols to ensure data integrity.
- Manage High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), and RAC strategies to guarantee system resilience.
- Automate routine database monitoring and maintenance tasks to enhance operational efficiency.
Desired Skill-Set
- 5 to 7 years of experience as an Oracle Golden Gate DBA or Azure Cloud database specialist.
- Proven experience with PostgreSQL (minimum 2 years).
- Hands-on experience with database setup, installation, configuration, and migration in cloud environments.
- Strong background in database tuning, query optimization, troubleshooting, backup, restore, and recovery procedures.
- Knowledge of implementing high availability solutions, disaster recovery plans, and performance monitoring tools.
- Familiarity with security features such as TDE, Always Encrypted, Data Redaction, and Database Vault.
Nice to Have
- Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server, especially in high-availability and security features.
- Experience with ServiceNow Ticketing System and SolarWinds performance tools.
- Azure certifications related to database or cloud solutions.
- Financial industry experience and a solid understanding of banking compliance requirements.
