Responsibilities
- Lead and own technical resolutions for production database incidents, ensuring minimal downtime and operational continuity.
- Communicate complex technical issues clearly to stakeholders and business partners, supporting effective decision-making.
- Maintain compliance with organizational standards for change control, security policies, and data protection best practices.
- Analyze recurring issues to identify opportunities for service improvements and implement proactive solutions.
- Participate in on-call rotations, providing support outside regular hours, including weekends, as needed.
- Contribute to disaster recovery planning, scheduled testing, and post-mortem reviews to enhance system resilience.
- Install, configure, and maintain MSSQL and Oracle databases, ensuring optimal performance through indexing, query tuning, and resource management.
- Implement native security features such as TDE, Data Redaction, and Database Vault for Oracle, and TDE, Always Encrypted for SQL Server.
- Develop and automate database monitoring, backup, and recovery procedures to streamline operations.
- Support high availability and disaster recovery strategies using technologies like RAC and other HA/DR solutions.
- Collaborate with solution design, database engineering, security teams, and external vendors to deliver robust database solutions.
Desired Skill-Set
- 5-7 years of hands-on experience with Azure Cloud databases, particularly MSSQL, including cloud migrations.
- Proficiency in PostgreSQL for at least 2 years.
- Strong experience with database setup, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Expertise in query optimization, performance tuning, and monitoring of complex database environments.
- Sound knowledge of backup, restore, and recovery procedures.
- Familiarity with automation of database maintenance tasks.
- Experience with disaster recovery planning and high availability configurations such as RAC.
- Understanding of cloud security practices and compliance standards.
Nice to Have
- Experience with ServiceNow Ticketing System.
- Knowledge of SolarWind Performance Monitoring tools.
- Azure Certification.
- Financial services industry experience.
