Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Junior Project / Program Manager- Data Governance & Capital Market and offers a unique opportunity to drive large-scale data governance and data enablement programs. As a key leader in this organization, you will coordinate cross-functional efforts to advance the firm’s data strategy, ensuring compliance, data quality, and operational excellence. This position involves collaborating closely with data management teams, engineering, and business stakeholders to deliver impactful data solutions that support enterprise-wide data governance objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive program management for major data governance and data enablement initiatives within the Capital Markets Data Office.
- Develop and execute detailed project plans, including risk assessment, dependencies, timelines, and success measurement.
- Coordinate efforts around metadata management, data quality, data cataloging, data lineage, and policy enforcement to ensure consistency with enterprise standards.
- Collaborate with Data Management Leads and Risk Management to align data governance policies with business and technical use cases.
- Manage delivery of data products, controls, and process improvements within authoritative data domains.
- Facilitate communication through working groups, steering committees, and stakeholder meetings to maintain transparency and momentum.
- Prepare agendas, guide discussions, document action items, and monitor progress toward milestones.
- Oversee project management office functions such as risk and issue tracking, dependency management, and reporting.
- Drive effective communication across technical, operational, and business teams to ensure alignment and accountability.
- Support change management initiatives, promoting adoption of data governance capabilities across the organization.
- Maintain dashboards and reports to monitor program progress, manage dependencies, and enforce deadlines with a focus on data risk and quality metrics.
Desired Skill-Set
- 3-5 years of experience managing data-related programs, ideally within data governance, data management, or enterprise data initiatives.
- Deep understanding of data governance principles including metadata, data quality, data lineage, and policy enforcement.
- Proven success leading complex, cross-functional projects in large organizational settings.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across diverse teams and levels of the organization.
- Familiarity with data governance tools such as Informatica, Alation, or Manta, and knowledge of frameworks like DAMA DMBOK is advantageous.
- Certifications such as PMP, Agile, Scrum, or equivalent are preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for project tracking and reporting purposes.
- Experience in building and maintaining project dashboards and managing interdependencies.
Nice to Have
- Experience working within financial services, particularly in Capital Markets.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to data governance in financial institutions.
- Familiarity with data enablement platforms and emerging data automation tools.
