Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Business Systems Analyst- Rate Engine(Insurance). The position involves supporting insurance rating and policy administration systems, collaborating with technical and business teams to develop detailed functional and technical specifications, and ensuring project deliverables meet quality standards. Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document detailed system requirements and technical specifications aligned with established standards and frameworks.
- Liaise with business partners, technology teams, and stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and communicate functional requirements.
- Support the development of efficient solutions by researching system capabilities and recommending appropriate technology options.
- Translate requirements and use cases into test conditions and expected results for various testing stages.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate solution options, understand system impacts, and guide integration activities.
- Ensure adherence to BSA best practices and maintain quality across project artifacts and processes.
- Follow established requirements management, project disciplines, and enterprise delivery standards; escalate issues when necessary.
- Continuously enhance knowledge of Guidewire, insurance rating, and related technologies to support design and delivery.
- Maintain clear communication with stakeholders throughout project lifecycle phases.
- Manage workload effectively across multiple projects to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
- Contribute to a positive team environment focusing on service, quality, innovation, and collaboration.
- Support and mentor less experienced team members as needed.
- Identify opportunities to improve team productivity and operational efficiency.
Desired Skill-Set
- 3+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, preferably within the insurance industry
- Hands-on experience working in Agile environments, familiar with Scrum or SAFe methodologies
- Knowledge of insurance rating processes, including exposure to rating engines or model development
- Strong understanding of personal lines insurance (auto, residential)
- Proficiency with Excel for validation and troubleshooting of actuarial calculations
- Experience working with XML, APIs, or web services for system integration
- Ability to support rating algorithm design based on actuarial and technical specifications
- Experience reviewing and validating rating-related documentation
- Effective collaboration skills; capable of engaging with both technical and business stakeholders
- Working knowledge of SQL, XML, and core pricing/rating concepts
Nice to Have
- Exposure to commercial insurance products and advanced rating models
- Experience with Guidewire or other policy administration systems
- Knowledge of complex rating engines and data transformation tools
- Familiarity with integration mapping and API testing tools
- Prior involvement with underwriting or pricing teams
- Experience working in a SAFe Agile environment beyond basic participation
- Ability to develop or enhance complex rating algorithms
- Broader understanding of insurance workflows, including policy issuance, endorsements, and renewals
