Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Credit Specialist – CDCS/Banking. This position involves supporting trade finance activities with a focus on standby letters of credit (SBLC) and guarantees, managing complex transactions, and providing exceptional client service. The role offers long-term contract stability, exposure to high-level trade finance processes, and the opportunity to develop your expertise with a leading bank.
Pay rate range (CAD): $17.60 to $42.12
Responsibilities
- Support trade finance operations, primarily handling SBLC and guarantees for corporate clients across the US and Canada
- Manage complex transaction processing, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established guidelines and SLAs
- Review and interpret trade finance documents in accordance with ICC brochures such as UCP, ISP, and URDG
- Communicate effectively with clients via phone and email to address inquiries and provide guidance
- Escalate issues beyond first-level operations to appropriate teams for resolution
- Assist in developing and improving operational processes and workflows
- Collaborate with internal teams and partners on key initiatives and projects
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and industry regulations, including anti-money laundering and risk management protocols
- Maintain thorough documentation of transactions and processes in compliance with policies
- Support training and cross-training efforts within the team to promote operational excellence
- Contribute to reporting and analytics to monitor performance metrics and identify process improvement opportunities
Desired Skill-Set
- Minimum of 3 years of trade finance experience, specifically with SBLC and guarantees
- Familiarity with ICC brochures such as UCP, ISP, URDG
- Strong client-facing communication skills, both verbal and written, with ability to interact professionally with corporate clients
- Experience working in trade finance operations, managing complex transactions
- Proficiency with SWIFT messaging (1+ years preferred)
- Knowledge of TPS360 or similar trade finance platforms is a plus
- Ability to interpret and apply trade finance regulations and standards
Nice to Have
- CDCS (Certified Documentary Credit Specialist) and CSDG certifications
- Experience with related technologies and systems such as SWIFT and TPS360
- Prior experience working in banking operations or back-office environments
- Bilingual skills are an advantage but not required
