Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Data Engineer- AWS/Banking. This position involves designing, developing, and optimizing data systems to support analytics and reporting within the asset management sector, leveraging modern cloud technologies and data migration projects to enhance data infrastructure and facilitate data-driven decision-making.
Pay rate range (CAD): $57.97/hr – $69.56/hr
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to facilitate efficient data flow.
- Develop and maintain data models, data warehouses, and infrastructure supporting analytics.
- Collaborate with data analysts, BI engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver effective analytic solutions.
- Lead modernization and migration initiatives to cloud platforms, primarily AWS.
- Optimize performance, reliability, and security of data systems in both cloud and on-premises environments.
- Participate in cross-functional projects to enhance data infrastructure and integrate new technologies.
Desired Skill-Set
- 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering and ETL development.
- Strong expertise in Python and SQL for data processing, automation, and scripting.
- Deep understanding of Data Modeling, Data Warehousing, and Analytics concepts.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, including SageMaker, AWS Unified Studio, and data migration tools.
- Proven track record in technology modernization and migration projects.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business teams.
- Strong communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts.
Nice to Have
- Experience with SAS and WebFOCUS for advanced reporting and analytics.
- Exposure to machine learning workflows and data science integration using AWS SageMaker.
- Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance standards in cloud environments.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines tailored for data engineering solutions.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based data platforms, especially AWS.
- Prior experience working within the banking or financial services industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
