Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for an AWS Data Engineer – SageMaker Studio specializing in cloud-based data solutions within the banking industry. This position offers the opportunity to work on modernization projects, including AWS migration, and contribute to a collaborative and innovative team focused on analytics and business intelligence.
Pay rate range (CAD): $57.97/hr – $69.56/hr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to support analytics and reporting needs.
- Develop and maintain data models and data warehouse infrastructure to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.
- Collaborate with data analysts, BI engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver effective data solutions.
- Drive technology modernization initiatives including cloud migrations to AWS and other platforms.
- Optimize the performance, reliability, and security of data systems across cloud and on-premise environments.
Desired Skill-Set
- 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering and ETL development.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL for data processing, automation, and scripting.
- Strong understanding of Data Modeling, Data Warehousing, and analytics concepts.
- Familiarity with AWS tools such as SageMaker, AWS Unified Studio, and other relevant data services.
- Proven experience with technology modernization and migration projects.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with SAS and WebFOCUS for analytics and reporting.
- Exposure to machine learning workflows and data science integration using AWS SageMaker.
- Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance practices in cloud environments.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for data solutions.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based data platforms, especially AWS.
- Background in the banking industry.
