Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Senior Data Governance Manager. In this position, you will oversee the development and implementation of data governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and fostering data quality across the organization. Pay rate range (CAD): $76.08/hr – $91.30/hr
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain data governance policies, standards, and procedures
- Lead data stewardship activities and coordinate with business units to promote data quality and consistency
- Establish and monitor data standards, metadata management, and data lineage documentation
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to ensure data compliance with regulatory and internal policies
- Conduct data risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies
- Drive data quality improvement initiatives and facilitate data issue resolution
- Support data-related audits and regulatory reporting requirements
- Provide guidance and training on data governance best practices to stakeholders
Desired Skill-Set
- 7+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related field
- Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, metadata management, and data quality concepts
- Proven experience in developing and implementing data policies and standards
- Excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills
- Advanced knowledge of data management tools and platforms
- Strong communication and documentation abilities
- Ability to facilitate cross-functional collaboration and drive organizational change
Nice to Have
- Experience with regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, CCPA, or financial industry standards
- Knowledge of data privacy and security best practices
- Previous work in financial services or related regulated industries
- Certification in data governance or data management (e.g., DAMA, CDMP)
