Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for an Infrastructure Solutions Designer/Architect. This position involves leading the development and delivery of comprehensive infrastructure designs that support multiple technology initiatives within a large financial organization. The role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to enterprise-level infrastructure strategy and implementation.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of end-to-end infrastructure designs for technology operations and application development projects.
- Incorporate engineering, operational, architectural, and security requirements into all design solutions.
- Evaluate platform options, including sizing, resiliency, disaster recovery, and data architecture.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to recommend effective infrastructure solutions.
- Engage with developers and business partners to understand requirements and provide technical guidance.
- Support project implementation by resolving infrastructure design issues and ensuring successful deployment.
- Document infrastructure components, including compute, storage, networking, middleware, and security elements, with associated cost estimates.
- Ensure all designs align with enterprise standards, security policies, and regulatory compliance.
Infrastructure Solution Design
- Meet with application development teams to gather and understand business needs.
- Translate business requirements into detailed infrastructure designs.
- Create documentation covering all design components and associated costs.
- Develop solutions that incorporate constraints and requirements from engineering, security, and operational teams.
- Align solutions with enterprise standards and regulatory expectations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with engineering, security, architecture, cloud specialists, and platform managers to incorporate specific expertise into solutions.
- Support project managers throughout implementation phases.
- Assist in addressing integration challenges during deployment.
Client Engagement
- Provide technical guidance and solution recommendations to development teams.
- Clearly communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Represent infrastructure considerations during requirements gathering and design review sessions.
Desired Skill-Set
- 5+ years of infrastructure solution design experience in enterprise environments.
- 5+ years of security technology experience (firewalls, Akamai, perimeter/security edge services).
- 5+ years of experience with data center infrastructure components (Oracle, MS SQL, Databricks).
- Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Azure.
- Knowledge of middleware fundamentals and networking basics (routing, subnets, load balancing, DNS, firewalls).
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to drive initiatives proactively with high initiative and self-starting attitude.
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities.
- Adaptability to navigate ambiguous requirements.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience working within a financial institution.
- Familiarity with Agile and DevOps delivery practices.
- Experience across multiple infrastructure disciplines.
- Exposure to security-focused enterprise solutions.
- Knowledge of Oracle, SQL, and Databricks for data-related understanding.
