Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Senior Data Analyst and Reporting Specialist. In this dynamic position, you will support enterprise-wide programs by developing and maintaining compelling dashboards and reports, key to tracking resourcing, efficiencies, and benefits across multiple initiatives within a high-profile transformation team.

Pay rate range (CAD): $57.97/hr – $69.57/hr 

Responsibilities

  • Build and enhance Power BI dashboards and reports to support executive and team-level decision-making
  • Automate manual spreadsheet reports into scalable, efficient Power BI solutions for dynamic weekly and monthly reporting
  • Gather, document, and analyze reporting requirements with stakeholders
  • Transform and validate data, ensuring accuracy for compliance, audits, and lifecycle management
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data context and support remediation efforts
  • Perform advanced data preparation using Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, macros) before ingestion into Power BI
  • Identify workflow inefficiencies, recommend process improvements, and support automation initiatives
  • Troubleshoot data discrepancies, perform root-cause analysis, and ensure reliable dashboard refreshes
  • Develop training materials, operational guides, and provide user training on Power BI tools
  • Support data reconciliation and ensure quality standards are met in all reporting outputs

Desired Skill-Set

  • Strong expertise in Power BI dashboard development and maintenance, including financial or cost/benefit reporting
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, macros, automation)
  • Proven experience automating manual spreadsheets into scalable Power BI solutions
  • Experience in banking or regulated financial services environments
  • Solid understanding of business analysis, data quality, and reconciliation with imperfect data
  • Ability to troubleshoot and perform root-cause analysis for data issues
  • Strong collaboration skills with technical and non-technical teams
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint, JIRA, and SharePoint
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent diploma
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in banking or similar financial institutions
  • Regulatory credentials or certifications (if applicable)
  • Experience with data remediation and process optimization in a financial setting
