Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Procurement Specialist. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative sourcing strategies that deliver value, mitigate risk, and support a purpose-driven culture. You will work closely with key stakeholders to lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives, develop long-term plans, and foster supplier relationships to enhance operational efficiency.
Pay rate range (CAD): $38.01/hr – $45.61/hr
Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted advisor to internal teams, particularly within People & Culture
- Influence and negotiate to meet business objectives and manage costs effectively
- Develop and recommend sourcing solutions based on strategic analysis
- Assist in creating and implementing long-term sourcing plans aligned with enterprise goals
- Identify emerging market trends and issues to inform decision-making
- Lead competitive sourcing initiatives including RFI/RFP processes, supplier evaluations, and contract negotiations
- Develop and execute category management strategies
- Conduct market assessments to identify preferred suppliers and evaluate risk factors
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and disciplined sourcing methodologies
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing conflicting priorities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers
- Collaborate with suppliers to create value, foster innovation, and mitigate risks
- Incorporate supplier risk assessments into contractual agreements, working with Legal, Regulatory, and Risk teams
- Monitor supplier performance and enforce controls to ensure alignment with organizational standards
- Use data analytics and performance metrics to develop insights, track progress, and identify improvement opportunities
- Proactively seek continuous process improvement and stay current with leading procurement practices
Desired Skill-Set
- 5-8 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, and contract negotiations
- Prior experience within a banking or financial institution strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of sourcing processes, controls, and compliance requirements
- Skilled in contract negotiations, business analysis, and project execution
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and influence skills
- Data-driven decision-making abilities, with proficiency in Excel and analytics
- Capable of leading end-to-end sourcing and contracting initiatives with minimal oversight
- Experience working in complex, regulated environments and large organizations
- Strong ability to build strategic plans through thorough analysis
Nice to Have
- Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Aptitude for influencing stakeholders and negotiating favorable terms
- Proven track record of working effectively with senior leadership
- Experience with procurement software and advanced data analysis tools
