Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Banking Operations Officer- AML. This position involves supporting banking operations with a focus on AML compliance, providing excellent administrative and operational support to ensure regulatory standards are met while delivering high-quality service within a dynamic team setting.

Pay rate range (CAD): $17.60/hr – $24.87/hr

Responsibilities

  • Manage queues to ensure timely processing of banking transactions and documentation.
  • Review and verify supporting documents to maintain compliance with AML, legal, and regulatory standards.
  • Process account opening requests, account change requests (such as change in signing authority), and additional account openings via Letter of Direction.
  • Obtain, compile, and review necessary supporting documentation for account onboarding and maintenance.
  • Ensure adherence to AML policies, legal stipulations, and regulatory requirements during all processes.
  • Assist team members in meeting service level agreements (SLAs) and operational benchmarks.
  • Participate in team meetings to stay aligned with departmental goals and compliance updates.
  • Support the continuous improvement of operational procedures related to banking compliance and client onboarding.

Desired Skill-Set

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in banking operations or administrative roles within financial institutions.
  • Basic understanding of AML compliance principles and procedures.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, especially Excel (basic understanding).
  • Typing speed of at least 60-65 WPM.
  • Strong organizational skills with acute attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to multitask efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness and proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to learn new systems and applications quickly.
  • Experience reviewing complex legal and legal-like documents is an asset.
  • Knowledge of host applications and C3 considered an advantage.

Nice to Have

  • Prior banking or financial institution experience.
  • Familiarity with host applications and C3.
