Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for an AML Analyst in the banking sector. The position involves conducting investigations, risk assessments, and supporting the bank’s efforts in AML and sanctions compliance. This dynamic role offers opportunities for growth and meaningful impact within a collaborative team environment.
Pay rate (CAD): $35.37/hr – $42.45/hr
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough investigations of AML, ATF, ABAC, and Sanctions cases, including interviews and data analysis
- Identify trends and patterns in suspicious activity and escalate as necessary
- File Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Gather and analyze digital evidence supporting complex investigations
- Assess risk levels associated with cases, applying sound methodologies
- Collaborate with internal and external partners for effective case resolution
- Keep up-to-date with emerging AML, sanctions, and cybercrime trends
- Support review processes, interviews, and evidence documentation for financial crime cases
- Assist in preparing reports and presentations for management review
- Lead small project work streams and contribute to team initiatives
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory guidelines
- Maintain accurate case records, databases, and documentation
Desired Skill-Set
- Investigations: experience identifying patterns and trends
- Risk management: assessing and mitigating risks
- Filing STRs: understanding of reporting obligations
- Proficiency in Excel for data analysis
- Knowledge of FINTRAC regulations and reporting
- Banking experience with familiarity in investigation processes
- Understanding of RGS, KYT, KYC procedures
Nice to Have
- ACAM’s certification or experience
- Experience working as a contractor or within banking environment
- Additional language skills or certifications in financial crime prevention
