Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for an Application Support Analyst – Global Trade Support/Calypso/Bloomberg. This position involves providing essential desk support for multi-asset trade activities, ensuring smooth operations across pre- and post-trade workflows while collaborating with trading desks and stakeholders to maintain operational excellence.
Pay rate range (CAD): $50.72 – $60.87/hr
Responsibilities
- Support all trade booking, amendments, and lifecycle events accurately on trading platforms.
- Coordinate with trading desks and stakeholders to ensure proper setup and downstream flow of new and existing products.
- Act as a first line of defense, implementing controls to mitigate operational risk and ensure compliance with approved product lists.
- Collaborate with IT and Product Development teams to automate workflows and enhance monitoring tools.
- Participate in system migration and testing, including UAT activities, assessing impacts on market risk and profit/loss.
- Investigate and resolve trade, position, and payment discrepancies proactively.
- Complete end-of-day reconciliation and validation procedures thoroughly.
- Maintain and update relevant procedure documents to ensure compliance and best practices.
- Identify potential risks within support activities and escalate as necessary.
- Uphold regulatory, legal, and internal policy adherence, including confidentiality and data security standards.
- Support contingency and business continuity planning efforts.
- Seek operational efficiencies and enhance service delivery to stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships across trading desks, product teams, and operations.
Desired Skill-Set
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in financial services, particularly trade support or operations.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in finance, economics, or related field.
- In-depth knowledge of vanilla and exotic derivatives, such as structured notes, equities, OTC derivatives, swaps, forwards, bonds, and loans.
- Practical experience with trade lifecycle processes, onboarding, and testing on trading platforms.
- Familiarity with Calypso, Bloomberg, TraderEH, SwapOne, Imagine, or similar systems.
- Strong understanding of financial markets, regulations, and oversight bodies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently under tight deadlines and within team environments.
- Strong problem-solving, investigative abilities, and attention to detail.
- Analytical mindset with sound judgment.
- Good organizational skills, motivated, and adaptable to changing priorities.
- Knowledge of risk management and regulatory compliance frameworks.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
Nice to Have
- Experience with project management and system testing.
- Knowledge of risk management tools and controls.
- Understanding of internal business partner operations and organizational structure.
- Experience working in a multi-asset trading environment.
- Additional certifications or training related to financial products or trade support.
