Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Senior Delivery Project Manager – Waterfall. This position involves leading large-scale, high-budget application development projects primarily following Waterfall methodologies, with some Agile components. The ideal candidate will manage end-to-end project delivery, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage large-scale IT projects with budgets exceeding $5 million annually
- Oversee the full project lifecycle, from initiation through to deployment, ensuring adherence to SDLC processes
- Be actively involved in day-to-day delivery activities, managing project scope, schedule, and resources
- Engage in detailed project tracking, risk identification, and mitigation strategies to ensure successful execution
- Collaborate closely with the delivery team and stakeholders to clarify requirements and challenge assumptions
- Validate project financials and estimates, questioning any inconsistencies or overestimations
- Proactively push teams to meet deadlines and improve project outcomes
- Report on project status accurately and transparently to senior management
- Ensure delivery discipline and accountability within the project team
Desired Skill-Set
- Extensive experience managing large IT projects with budgets over $5 million
- Strong knowledge of SDLC in enterprise environments, primarily Waterfall with exposure to Agile practices
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a complex organization
- Excellent communication skills with the confidence to hold teams accountable
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and delivery-focused mindset
- Ability to ask insightful questions and challenge assumptions constructively
- Hands-on approach to project management and daily delivery oversight
Nice to Have
- Experience working in a financial or regulated industry
- Knowledge of project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Jira)
- Familiarity with managing cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Experience with executive reporting and presenting project updates
