Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Jr. Business Systems Analyst – Capital Markets, Commodities, and Derivatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with front-office trading desks, translating business needs into innovative solutions, supporting P&L workflows, and contributing to strategic projects focused on commodities and broader derivatives exposure. 

Pay rate range (CAD): $33.00/hr – $38.00/hr

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with front-office/trading desks to gather and analyze requirements
  • Translate business needs into derivatives-focused technology solutions
  • Support P&L workflows, valuation, validation, and reporting
  • Participate in all phases of the SDLC: design, build, test, and implement
  • Collaborate with developers, project managers, and QA teams
  • Contribute to valuation, pricing, and risk-related discussions
  • Engage in ad-hoc problem solving for trading and risk scenarios
  • Assist with industry releases, indexing workflows, onboarding new trading desks, and derivative/risk initiatives

Desired Skill-Set

  • 2–5 years of experience in Capital Markets or Derivatives environment, or recent Rotman FRM program graduates
  • Strong knowledge of derivatives products, including forwards, swaps, and options
  • Proficiency in understanding Greeks: Delta, Gamma, Beta
  • Deep understanding of trade lifecycle, risk profiles, and product behaviors
  • Front-office facing experience; ability to communicate confidently with traders
  • Hands-on experience with P&L / valuation workflows, SQL, and Bloomberg data feeds
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business problems into technical solutions
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a dynamic setting

Nice to Have

  • Experience with interest rate derivatives
  • Exposure to US or London markets
  • Support experience with commodities, especially precious metals
  • Python programming skills
  • Relevant certifications (FRM, CFA, etc.)
  • Experience with trading or reporting platforms
