Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Funding & Money Market Middle Office Analyst – Nostro. This position offers the opportunity to manage and optimize cash and liquidity for a leading securities firm, supporting critical trading activities and risk management processes. The role is ideal for candidates with a solid foundation in financial operations, looking to deepen their expertise within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Pay rate range (CAD): $34.77/hr – $41.73/hr

Responsibilities

  • Manage, analyze, and direct USD dollar payments flow for main trading Nostro accounts using applications such as Intraday Liquidity Tool (IDL) and Liquidity Control Manager (LCM).
  • Investigate and resolve exceptional Nostro account balances.
  • Oversee the Daily Funding Requirement platform and facilitate internal funding relationships with various desks.
  • Assist in approving and releasing daily transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Provide guidance and support to Junior Analysts when issues arise.
  • Manage change and navigate ambiguity effectively within a rapidly evolving environment.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks proactively.
  • Maintain high standards of service quality, accurately processing transactions to meet SLAs.
  • Support process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.

Desired Skill-Set

  • 1+ year relevant operations experience in financial services, banking, or big 4 firms (co-op experience acceptable).
  • Undergraduate degree in Economics, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in Excel; VBA macro experience considered an asset.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and meticulous organizational abilities.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and dedicated team player.

Nice to Have

  • Experience within banking or capital markets environment.
  • Advanced degree or certifications in relevant fields.
  • Familiarity with Canadian financial products and regulatory environment.
  • Knowledge of additional scripting or programming languages.
  • Previous involvement in strategic initiatives or process automation projects.
