Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Sr. Android Developer. This position requires a hands-on technical leader who can balance coding expertise with leadership responsibilities, including reviewing code, mentoring junior developers, and ensuring smooth project delivery within an agile team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and enhancing Android applications that impact millions of users.
Pay rate range (CAD): $70/hr – $75/hr
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain high-quality Android applications using Kotlin, Java, and relevant frameworks
- Lead and participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, and deployment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and translate high-level designs into detailed, optimized code
- Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards
- Mentor junior team members to foster technical growth and knowledge sharing
- Assist in designing scalable and maintainable architecture for mobile solutions
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the team and project lifecycle
- Ensure timely delivery of features with quality assurance and stakeholder satisfaction
Desired Skill-Set
- Extensive experience with Kotlin and Java for Android development
- Proficiency with Jetpack Compose and Android SDK
- Strong understanding of web services integration and XML
- Experience with version control systems such as Git and Subversion
- Ability to convert high-level designs into detailed development plans
- Demonstrated leadership in an Agile environment
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
- Strong communication skills and proactive team collaboration
Nice to Have
- Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) development
- Familiarity with CI/CD processes and automation tools
- Prior experience working in a financial or regulated environment
- Additional mobile programming expertise beyond Android platform
- Knowledge of UI/UX best practices to enhance user engagement
