Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for an Enterprise Data Management & Data Quality Lead. This position offers an exciting opportunity to spearhead the development of a comprehensive data management framework within Asset Management, influence long-term data governance practices, and work closely with senior stakeholders to establish trusted investment data across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the Asset Management Enterprise Data Management strategy.
- Define target-state data governance and stewardship operating models.
- Establish enterprise data standards, policies, and governance frameworks.
- Lead the creation of a trusted “golden source” of investment data organization-wide.
- Oversee prioritization and execution of data quality initiatives and programs.
- Establish and maintain data ownership and stewardship models across investment data domains.
- Collaborate with business leaders to define data quality standards, critical data elements, and validation rules.
- Design processes ensuring ongoing data quality and accountability, including automated controls.
- Develop data quality metrics, KPIs, and reporting standards to monitor adherence.
- Lead stakeholder workshops to capture business validation requirements and embed rules into operational systems.
- Design and implement data quality standards, critical controls, and exception management processes.
- Partner with engineering teams to operationalize data quality controls within cloud environments like Databricks and Azure.
- Collaborate with external vendors and platform teams to support data integrity and automation.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to team members involved in data governance and quality projects.
- Act as a senior escalation point for critical data quality issues.
- Drive organization-wide adoption of data governance best practices and establish enterprise standards.
Desired Skill-Set:
- 10-15+ years of experience in investment data management, data governance, or enterprise data initiatives.
- Proven leadership in establishing enterprise data management capabilities.
- Extensive knowledge of asset management or institutional investment environments.
- Demonstrated success building security master or enterprise data platforms.
- Experience designing and implementing data governance and stewardship frameworks.
- Strong understanding of investment workflows, data quality standards, and downstream data consumption.
- Skilled in partnering with business leaders to define data quality measures.
- Proficient with Databricks, Microsoft Azure, SQL, Bloomberg, FactSet, and data governance platforms.
- Technical experience with data lineage, metadata, and master data management.
- Advanced analytics skills with Python, Spark, or similar tools (nice to have).
- Excellent stakeholder management, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
- Leadership capability to guide teams through ambiguity and organizational change.
Nice to Have:
- Previous leadership roles at pension funds, asset managers, or global banks.
- Experience supporting cloud-based data modernization projects.
- Knowledge of data lineage, metadata management, and master data solutions.
- Exposure to both Asset Management and Wealth Management sectors.
