Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Business Analyst-Mainframe/Banking. This position involves working closely with stakeholders on diverse projects, gathering and documenting business requirements, managing initiatives from inception to deployment, and supporting multiple teams to ensure successful project delivery. The role offers an opportunity to contribute to a leading financial institution within a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Pay rate range (CAD): $54.77/hr – $65.72/hr

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts to elicit, analyze, document, and communicate business requirements for process and system changes.
  • Lead the creation of detailed business requirements documents, use cases, and technical specifications, ensuring clarity and completeness.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of current business processes (AS-IS) and recommend improvements (TO-BE) that align with organizational goals.
  • Translate business needs into system specifications and work with technology teams to develop, test, and implement solutions that meet business objectives.
  • Support testing activities, including creating test plans, test cases, and facilitating User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Act as the main liaison between business and technical teams, addressing system issues and ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Engage with third-party vendors and external stakeholders as needed, ensuring deliverables meet organizational standards and project requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by maintaining current knowledge of industry trends and technological advancements relevant to business analysis and financial services.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring deadlines are met with high-quality deliverables.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, providing updates and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify project risks and work collaboratively to develop mitigation strategies, ensuring timely completion within budget.

Desired Skill-Set

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience as a Business Analyst in banking or financial services.
  • Proven expertise in requirements elicitation, documentation, and analysis.
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Extensive experience working within Mainframe environments.
  • Competent in Agile methodologies, with at least 3 years of experience using JIRA and Confluence.
  • Proficiency in SQL and data analysis is a strong asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues and offer strategic solutions.
  • Ability to work well independently and adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with VaR applications and capital markets.
  • Knowledge of securities terminology and trading systems such as Sophis, Calypso, Wall Street, Murex, Summit.
  • Technical skills in .NET development.
  • Prior experience as a QA analyst.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence platforms and data analytics tools.
