Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Senior Project Manager – Payments, API, and Banking. This position involves leading a Payments Technology project, with responsibilities including managing cross-functional teams, stakeholder engagement, and ensuring the successful delivery of payment solutions within a banking environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the end-to-end delivery of Payments and API projects within the banking industry.
- Collaborate closely with business and technical teams to define project scope, objectives, and timelines.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and risks to ensure timely and within-budget delivery.
- Facilitate effective stakeholder communication and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Apply project management methodologies and best practices to deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Navigate challenging situations and resolve project issues promptly.
- Conduct regular project status updates and reporting to senior management.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to ensure integration and compliance.
- Identify and mitigate project and business risks, including managing interdependencies.
- Promote continuous improvement within project teams and processes.
- Support the delivery of Payments initiatives, including software development and cloud-based solutions.
Desired Skill-Set
- 10+ years of project management experience within the financial or banking industry.
- Proven expertise working with Payments, API development, and Cloud technologies such as AWS.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Good judgment and decision-making skills.
- Expertise in managing project risks and dependencies.
- Ability to work effectively with business and technical teams.
- Experience delivering payments initiatives is an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent collaboration and cross-group coordination skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous situations.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience working with or within similar banking institutions.
- Experience managing projects involving cloud platforms like AWS.
- Knowledge of payment systems and banking APIs.
- Familiarity with Agile and other project management frameworks.
- PMP or similar project management certification.
