Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for an Accounting Clerk and offers a key opportunity to develop your skills within a leading global asset management organization. In this position, you will be responsible for processing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the Accounts Payable function within a team dedicated to operational excellence and collaboration. The role provides valuable exposure to financial workflows, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional communication, with opportunities for potential FTE conversion.

Responsibilities

  • Classify, record, and reconcile financial data using journals, ledgers, and accounting software to ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Prepare, review, and issue invoices, account statements, and other financial documents following established procedures.
  • Process vendor invoices and monitor expense transactions to ensure timely and accurate payments.
  • Support financial controls, audit, and reporting activities to maintain compliance and transparency.
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve payment or billing inquiries.
  • Perform data entry and management tasks using Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUP, pivot tables) and accounting software such as COUPA.
  • Handle miscellaneous duties related to financial record management as assigned.

Desired Skill-Set

  • College diploma or equivalent education.
  • 3-5 years of relevant financial or accounting experience, particularly in accounts payable.
  • Strong knowledge of financial principles, practices, and workflow processes.
  • Excellent customer service skills with clear verbal and written communication.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to think critically.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel (intermediate proficiency required), including formulas and data management.
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as COUPA.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage time.

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience in the banking or financial services industry.
  • Professional accounting certification.
  • Additional knowledge of sales tax legislation and compliance.
  • Familiarity with macro functions in Excel.
