Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for an AML Operations Officer/Capital Markets to support client onboarding, periodic reviews, and ongoing due diligence activities. This opportunity is well suited to an experienced AML and KYC professional with capital markets knowledge who can manage complex cases, guide team members, drive process improvements, and contribute to regulatory and operational initiatives. The role offers the opportunity to work with a collaborative team, provide mentorship, and support meaningful enhancements to client due diligence processes.
Pay rate range (CAD): $38.41/hr – $46.09/hr
Responsibilities
- Lead process improvement, system enhancement, and risk mitigation initiatives within client due diligence operations.
- Oversee onboarding workloads, manage work queues, and ensure requests meet established service-level agreements and quality standards.
- Complete client onboarding, periodic reviews, and ad hoc due diligence requests in accordance with KYC, AML, FATCA, CIRO, and CRS requirements.
- Conduct secondary reviews of complex AML analyses, ensuring accurate risk assessments and appropriate documentation.
- Manage escalations and high-priority cases in collaboration with business partners.
- Mentor and train team members on AML requirements, procedures, and regulatory expectations.
- Support audit and regulatory examination preparation by gathering, analysing, and presenting required information.
- Identify operational, KYC, and compliance concerns and work with management to address them.
- Support the rollout and adoption of new processes, systems, and regulatory initiatives.
- Manage competing priorities while maintaining consistent delivery, accuracy, and compliance.
- Contribute to a positive team environment through effective collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.
Desired Skill-Set
- At least five years of AML and KYC experience, with a focus on client onboarding.
- Advanced knowledge of AML regulations and requirements, including PCMLTFA, FATCA, CIRO, and broader AML developments.
- Experience leading or mentoring team members and managing escalations.
- Project management experience involving process improvements, system enhancements, or regulatory compliance.
- Strong problem-solving and strategic-thinking skills.
- Ability to manage complex assignments with competing priorities and deadlines.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence team members and business partners.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience supporting client due diligence within a capital markets environment.
Nice to Have
- Capital markets experience.
- CAMS designation or an equivalent compliance certification.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with Bloomberg, Impact, UI Path, Alteryx, or VBA.
- Experience working with data analysis tools to support operational and compliance activities.
