Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for an Application Packaging Developer /Engineer- Mainframe COBOL and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to critical application deployment initiatives. This position involves ensuring seamless packaging and integration of software applications, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to meet industry and security standards, and supporting operational and support activities within a team known for high performance and collaboration. You will be pivotal in maintaining application delivery quality and supporting ongoing projects, including migration and integration efforts.
Responsibilities
- Ensure application packaging and integration align with documented user requirements, compliance standards, and internal best practices.
- Collaborate with Desktop Engineering, Release Management, and other technical teams to document and deliver packaging parameters effectively.
- Participate in testing security controls and verifying application fixes or upgrades before deployment.
- Support application rationalization efforts and assist with new software requests.
- Communicate promptly on issues impacting project timelines or operational stability.
- Maintain open lines of communication with internal teams and external vendors to optimize application deployment processes.
- Assist in connectivity and support tasks across multiple banking entities utilizing the network.
- Advise management on suitable technology solutions based on technical expertise and customer needs.
- Engage in cross-functional meetings to resolve technical challenges and ensure quality delivery.
Desired Skill-Set
- University degree or college diploma in Computer Science or related field.
- 4-6 years of relevant experience in application packaging, deployment, and integration.
- Extensive knowledge of mainframe COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS.
- Strong experience with .NET and SQL database technologies.
- Familiarity with Windows XP and Windows 11 operating systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft SCCM, Active Directory, and Group Policies.
- Solid scripting skills for automation and configuration tasks.
Nice To Have
- Experience with APIs, JSON, and cloud technologies.
- Background in Trade Finance or financial services industry.
- Knowledge of network security, firewalls, and networking fundamentals.
