Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for an Application Packaging Specialist -.Net/Mainframe/Banking. This position involves managing application packaging and integration to ensure the effective delivery of software applications aligned with user requirements and industry standards. Pay rate range (CAD): $72.46 – $86.95/hr
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement application packaging solutions adhering to documented user requirements, industry standards, and internal best practices.
- Collaborate with Desktop Engineering, QA, and Release Management teams to ensure packages meet security and technical standards.
- Conduct thorough testing of packages, verifying security controls and functionality prior to production deployment.
- Support application rationalization initiatives and assist with software requests across multiple banking institutions on the network.
- Troubleshoot connectivity and technical issues related to application deployment and support ongoing maintenance.
- Provide guidance and advice on technology solutions to meet client needs.
- Participate in meetings with engineering, project teams, and end users to resolve technical issues and improve processes.
- Maintain documentation of packaging processes, parameters, and security considerations.
- Ensure compliance with change management procedures and security policies.
- Maintain awareness of the latest tools, technologies, and industry best practices related to application packaging and deployment.
Desired Skill-Set:
- University degree or college diploma in Computer Science or related field.
- Extensive knowledge of .NET development and deployment.
- 4-6 years of relevant experience in application packaging and deployment.
- Strong knowledge of Mainframe COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS.
- Proficiency in SQL and scripting skills.
- Experience with Windows XP and Windows 11 environments.
- Knowledge of Microsoft SCCM, Active Directory, and Group Policies.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong problem-solving, change management, and time management skills.
- Ability to analyze user requirements, estimate work effort, and adapt to changing priorities.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with APIs, JSON, and cloud technologies.
- Knowledge of Trade Finance or financial institution operations.
- Understanding of firewall rules and network configurations.
