Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for an Azure Databricks Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data solutions that support analytics and business insights. This position involves implementing data architecture, ensuring data quality, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decisions.
Pay rate range (CAD): $65.00/hr – $75.00/hr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimize data pipelines and workflows
- Develop scalable data models and architecture to support analytical needs
- Collaborate with data analysts and data scientists to understand data requirements
- Implement data quality and validation procedures
- Maintain and troubleshoot data systems and infrastructure
- Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations
- Document data architecture and processes for future reference
- Optimize database performance and data retrieval processes
Desired Skill-Set
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role
- Strong knowledge of SQL and data querying languages
- Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools and frameworks
- Knowledge of data modeling and warehousing concepts
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Nice to Have
- Experience with big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop)
- Knowledge of data governance and security practices
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Previous experience in financial services or regulated environments
- Certification in cloud platforms or data engineering
