Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Banking Associate – CDS/DTC. This position is ideal for candidates looking to gain hands-on experience in securities processing and trade settlement operations while working within a collaborative and dynamic team environment. The successful candidate will support trade settlement, share movements, and internal bookkeeping processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and facilitating smooth operations.
Pay rate range (CAD): $17.60/hr – $24.35/hr
Responsibilities
- Review depository requests, confirm details, and coordinate extensions for deliveries
- Ensure timely trade settlements and accurate processing of share movements
- Input and maintain data within internal records and systems
- Generate and analyze reports related to trade activities and settlement status
- Communicate proactively with brokers, traders, and relevant stakeholders
- Support internal bookkeeping activities and reconcile discrepancies
- Respond promptly to inquiries from traders and team members
- Assist with audit compliance and documentation in accordance with CIRO regulations
- Perform general operational tasks related to the securities settlement lifecycle
Desired Skill-Set
- Relevant administrative and operational experience in a financial or banking environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Intermediate Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Proven team player with a collaborative approach
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have
- One or more years of banking industry experience
- Prior experience operating with CDS/DTC systems
- Knowledge of trade lifecycle processes in a back-office setting (2-5 years)
- Familiarity with securities depositories and settlement procedures
