Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a BI Developer who will create comprehensive BI reporting packages and dashboards utilizing PB datamarts, Akora, and external data sources. The successful candidate will work with business partners to understand business objectives, develop value-added reporting, and provide ad-hoc data extracts. The ideal candidate will lead and be responsible for owning and delivering business performance tools and reporting packages to deliver reports, dashboards, scorecards with key metrics, visualizations, insights, and commentary to provide a comprehensive and holistic view of businesses. The individual needs to be a highly motivated and adaptable individual with strong decision-making skills who can work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation of initiatives in support of overall business/function strategy
  • Conduct analysis to provide enhanced BI to inform management leadership team
  • Create complex and comprehensive BI reporting packages and dashboards utilizing data infrastructure, localized datamarts, and external data sources
  • Validate the quality and integrity of the data included in the Reporting Packages and Dashboards
  • Develop meaningful and insightful commentary/insights on new and existing reporting packages
  • Work with business partners to understand business objectives and develop value-added reporting and provide ad-hoc data extracts
  • Adopt, implement, and effectively evolve report automation standards
  • Understand business drivers, definitions, and metrics to interpret findings, take action and provide meaningful direction
  • Develop and/or deliver presentations /communications to management or a broader audience
  • Adhere to internal policies /procedures and applicable regulatory guidelines, contribute to the review of internal processes and activities and assist in identifying potential opportunities to improve operational efficiencies
  • Identify variances and contribute to the analysis, due diligence, and implementation of initiatives and/or business operations within a defined area of responsibility
  • Support development and/or/implementation of standards, policies, procedures, and solutions that mitigate risk and maximize the availability of service, efficiency, and effectiveness
  • Prioritize and manage own workload to deliver quality results and meet assigned timelines
  • Manage time efficiently and deliver with accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability in creating web-based reporting based solutions that provide insight and direction to the end-user
  • Support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation, and teamwork; ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance productivity, effectiveness, and operational efficiency
  • Participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business units
  • Establish effective relationships across multiple business and technology partners, program and project managers
  • Develop meaningful insights on new and existing reporting packages
  • Adopt, implement, and effectively evolve report automation standards

Desired Skill Set:

  • 5-10 years of experience working in the banking or closely related industry in a Data Management or Analytical role
  • 5+ years of experience with SQL, SAS
  • 5+ years of experience with Tableau
  • 5+ years of experience with Excel 
  • 3+ years of experience with Hadoop 
  • Strong conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills which can translate into options and recommendations
  • Ability to work effectively in an exciting and fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
  • Sound knowledge of the MS Office suite
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and SAS
  • Experience with Tableau and Python 
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Business Intelligence Stack is desired
  • Strong conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills which can translate into options and recommendations
  •  Ability to work effectively in an exciting and fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
  • Strong team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  •  Ability to learn quickly, promote a positive team environment, and exceed expectations with minimal supervision
  • Proven experience in presenting complex data/information in a simplified, easy to understand format
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Business Intelligence Stack (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, SSMS)
  • Working knowledge of Enterprise Data Warehouse & Tableau platform 
  • Working knowledge of VBS and familiarity with website development (ASP, ASP.NET, SharePoint)
  • Knowledge/expertise in own area and keep current on emerging trends /developments and grow knowledge of the business, analytical tools, and techniques
