Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a BI Developer-Pyspark/PowerBI. This position involves developing, supporting, and maintaining data visualization solutions and reporting products, primarily focusing on Power BI dashboards, data modeling, and analytics on large datasets using Azure Databricks. The role offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-impact projects supporting business decision-making within a collaborative environment.
Pay rate range (CAD): $62.66/hr – $75.20/hr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and enhance Power BI dashboards, scorecards, and reporting solutions to meet business needs.
- Utilize Azure Databricks, SQL, and PySpark to query, transform, and validate large datasets ensuring accurate BI outputs.
- Drive standardization and consistency of KPI definitions, maintaining data quality and reporting integrity across stakeholders.
- Translate stakeholder requirements into clear, actionable insights with effective visual storytelling.
- Manage end-to-end deliverables including requirements gathering, development, testing, deployment, and support.
- Proactively identify and resolve risks or issues impacting delivery timelines or data accuracy.
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to share best practices and improve BI standards continuously.
Desired Skill-Set
- 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or similar roles.
- Extensive experience with Azure Databricks, including SQL and PySpark, handling large datasets.
- Advanced expertise in Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, performance tuning, and dashboard creation.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data quality control.
- Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and the ability to work independently within a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effectively translating technical details to non-technical audiences.
Nice to Have
- Experience with dimensional or semantic data models for BI applications.
- Proven ability to support enterprise dashboards and shared KPI frameworks.
- Exposure to wealth management or financial services reporting.
- Familiarity with Tableau or similar visualization tools.
- Knowledge of other scripting languages or automation tools to streamline reporting processes.
