Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Business Data Analyst- Financial Reporting. This position involves leveraging data to support accurate financial transactions and improve reporting processes within a leading financial institution. The role offers a dynamic environment with opportunities for growth and development in financial analysis and process optimization.
Pay rate range (CAD): $67.65/hr – $81.18/hr
Responsibilities
- Extract data from the financial book of record (Clarity) and review for accuracy
- Assess financial data to identify discrepancies, root causes, and areas for improvement
- Summarize findings and develop action plans to address issues within reporting cycles
- Lead and coordinate with internal stakeholders and vendors to implement fixes effectively
- Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance future financial reporting processes
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate financial information delivery
- Participate in meetings shaping project and reporting strategies (approximately 2-3 hours daily)
- Engage with internal teams and external vendors as necessary to support project objectives
Desired Skill-Set
- Proficiency in Excel, including large data analysis, formulas, and merging files
- Experience working within large organizations and handling complex financial data
- Familiarity with Clarity or similar financial management systems
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to detect patterns and root causes
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to implement process improvements and optimize workflows
Nice to Have
- Experience with Jira or similar project management tools
