Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Business System Analyst-Mortgaged backed securities who will be actively involved during the projects and is accountable for collaborating with various teams such as Front Office, Finance, Market Risk, Global Middle Office, Back Office, and various consulting firms, to collect, clarify, and translate requirements into new reporting/application features and functionality.

Responsibilities:

  • Elicit and document business requirements, risks, and priorities to establish a clear understanding of items in scope
  • Define, including capturing the current processes and map to target application as per defined data strategy
  • Achieve consensus on scope changes and achieve signoff by all stakeholders
  • Maintain a collaborative relationship with stakeholders and ensure the ability to get buy-in on feasible solutions
  • Ensure the traceability of individual requirements and adherence to the defined requirements
  • Analyze/interpret business requirements and perform current/target/gap/impact analyses
  • Articulate business needs, gaps, impact across all areas, and proposals to close gaps
  • Validate that the proposed/designed solution(s) and associated testing approach will support meeting the articulated business requirements
  • Familiarity with data modeling and design, static data and data repositories
  • Provide and review solution designs and supporting project planning
  • Work hands-on with the system to configure it and test it to ensure that it meets the business requirements
  • Develop test criteria to ensure system(s) meet business requirements
  • Document and providing end-user training
  • Document transition to operations deliverables

Desired Skill Set:

  • 6 years of experience in IT or business environment and/or BS/BA or MBA/MS in computer science, engineering, information systems, math, or business
  • Strong knowledge of requirements/design methodology – detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of investigating complex / technical issues
  • Good level of knowledge in capital markets and the securitization domain
  • Expertise in SQL/Oracle database should be able to create/query tables, optimize queries
  • Experience with Requirements Management
  • Strong facilitation, influencing, and negotiation skills with key stakeholders
  • Strong written/verbal/presentation/communication skills
  • Expert level experience in writing business requirements/technical specifications
  • Self-directed and able to work in an extremely fast-paced environment and meet the deadline
  • Knowledge of Database or other data repositories
  • Results-oriented with a proactive approach to resolving problems
  • Proven critical thinking ability
  • Strong prioritization skills
  • Strong planning skills (resource, strategy, business)
  • Strong multi-tasking skills covering a wide range of challenges which are independent and distinct
  • Must be knowledgeable of Software Development Lifecycle process
  • Strong data mining skills 
  • Experience with System Analysis
  • Ability to effectively communicate conceptual ideas and design rationale both verbally and in written form
  • Good knowledge of SQL /Oracle
  • Good knowledge of Reporting and ETL tools such as SSIS/SSRS, Crystal Reports, and/or Power BI
  • Experience with QA, SIT, UAT, Performance Testing / Test Automation
  • Experience in Test Strategy/Plan documentation, Test Cases – writing and executing, Variance management, and tracking
  • Experience with System Documentation
  • Ability to effectively document and communicate application-related artefacts such as Standard operating procedures etc.
  • Knowledge of data, processes, strategy, and structure as it relates to static data repositories
  • Experience with Business Product or Process Knowledge
  • Good to know Capital Market Fixed Income products – Repo, Bonds, etc.
  • Good to know business processes supporting trading – Front Office, Middle Office, Back Office, Risk
  • Good to know Securitization concepts
  • Experience with Vendor Application
  • Understanding of any Securitization (ABS or MBS) system/infrastructure
