Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Certified Scrum Master to support the Digital Web Experience team within a global asset management environment. This opportunity offers the chance to lead Agile initiatives that enhance web content and customer interactions, fostering innovation and growth in a dynamic setting.
Pay rate range (CAD): $76.09/hr – $91.30/hr
Responsibilities
- Serve as Scrum Master for one or multiple squads, facilitating all Agile ceremonies including stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Remove impediments, shield teams from external distractions, and promote a high-trust, high-velocity delivery culture.
- Drive continuous improvement aligned with Agile principles and best practices.
- Ensure teams adhere to bi-weekly release cycles, utilizing feature toggling and incremental delivery strategies.
- Lead initiative execution by applying Agile methodologies; adapt approaches to ensure quality and timely delivery.
- Act as a trusted advisor to product owners and stakeholders, assisting with backlog refinement, prioritization, and defining completion criteria.
- Monitor team performance through Agile metrics such as velocity and burndown charts to optimize delivery.
- Ensure all activities meet the client's Agile standards, PMLC, and SDLC requirements, with activities ready for production release per operational readiness standards.
- Manage Jira for backlog management, sprint planning, and dependency tracking; maintain dashboards for transparency.
- Coordinate vendor engagement and support cross-functional team collaboration, including UX, QA, DevOps, Security, and Architecture.
- Prepare and deliver presentations on progress, risks, and outcomes to management and stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes through workshops and training sessions, fostering greater Agile adoption and maturity.
Desired Skill-Set
- Over 7 years of experience in delivery roles, with more than 5 years as a Scrum Master in complex digital environments.
- Extensive Agile experience (Scrum/Kanban) with solid understanding of Agile standards, PMLC, and SDLC frameworks.
- Proven track record leading cross-functional teams in Digital Delivery, Web Application Delivery, and Content Management projects.
- Strong proficiency with Jira (system of record) and Confluence; working knowledge of Contentful and modern CI/CD practices is a plus.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and influencing skills, capable of operating effectively under pressure and managing ambiguity.
- Sound understanding of global asset management workflows, data governance, and regulatory requirements.
- Agile certification such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or equivalent.
Nice to Have
- Additional certifications like PMP, SAFe, SASM, or ICP-ACC.
- Experience in FinTech or Asset Management domains.
