Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Data Analyst – Capital Markets (Databricks/SQL/Python. This position involves supporting the development of a modern data platform centered on Databricks and Spark within Azure, focusing on data ingestion, pipeline creation, enrichment, and modeling to facilitate efficient access to capital markets data. The role offers a unique opportunity to work on a strategic, long-term initiative with exposure to big data processing, cross-functional collaboration, and mentorship from senior team members.
Pay rate range (CAD): $62.86/hr – $75.44/hr
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines on Databricks/Spark for ingesting, transforming, and serving capital markets data.
- Perform data enrichment and modeling aligned with business needs and platform standards.
- Write performant and maintainable SQL and Python code for data transformations, validation, and automation.
- Collaborate with team leads to understand requirements and prioritize work items.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and delivery ceremonies.
- Contribute to project documentation and knowledge sharing efforts.
- Utilize Azure platforms and adapt concepts from other cloud environments to meet project goals.
- Support continuous improvement of data processes and best practices.
Desired Skill-Set:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Data Analyst or Data Engineer working with big data and data pipelines.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks and a solid understanding of the Spark engine.
- Experience in data modeling and enrichment techniques.
- Cloud platform experience, preferably Azure; familiarity with AWS or GCP concepts acceptable.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to quickly grasp new data models.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and mentorship in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have:
- Exposure to capital markets data and domain knowledge.
- Experience with Azure-native services around Databricks.
- Understanding of AWS or GCP cloud services.
- Ability to adapt to evolving project priorities and backlog management.
