Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Data Analyst – Cybersecurity/Python and demands a proactive professional capable of supporting incident analytics, developing threat detection use cases, and automating manual processes. The ideal candidate is a data analyst with strong technical skills in Python and SQL, complemented by a background in fraud, AML, corporate security, or cyber investigations. An investigator mindset and the ability to work collaboratively across teams are highly valued to help identify emerging threats and enhance security protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Support incident analytics activities to enable swift and effective response to security incidents.
  • Develop and refine threat detection use cases utilizing cross-domain datasets to identify potential security breaches.
  • Automate manual and repetitive processes to improve operational efficiency and accuracy.
  • Document data models, threat detection logic, and use case backgrounds to ensure clarity and reproducibility.
  • Collaborate closely with investigation teams and business partners to gather requirements, share insights, and optimize detection strategies.
  • Contribute to ongoing automation initiatives to support continuous security improvements.

Desired Skill-Set

  • Strong proficiency in SQL for extracting and manipulating large datasets.
  • Solid programming skills in Python, with experience in data transformation, analysis, and automation.
  • Experience with PySpark is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Sound understanding of corporate security, AML, fraud, and cybersecurity concepts.
  • Background in fraud investigation or related roles with a keen investigative mindset.
  • Familiarity with threat detection, incident analytics, and use case development.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to take initiative and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with documentation and organizational tasks supporting technical workflows.
  • Knowledge of cross-domain threat scenarios involving fraud, money laundering, and cyber threats.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, security-focused environment with a focus on continuous improvement.
