Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Data Analyst- SAS/SQL/Heloc – a key player in turning complex data into actionable insights that support high-impact business initiatives. This position involves designing, developing, and implementing advanced analytical solutions, supporting strategic planning, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization. Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted advisor to assigned business units, understanding their data and reporting needs.
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of sophisticated analytical and reporting solutions.
- Identify emerging trends and issues through data analysis to inform strategic decision-making.
- Recommend and implement data-driven solutions, ensuring alignment with stakeholder requirements.
- Collaborate with teams to design, build, and improve analytics and reporting tools including dashboards and reports.
- Break down complex strategic problems, analyze relevant data, and provide insightful recommendations.
- Structure and assemble data into multi-dimensional formats based on demographic, product, customer, or transactional attributes.
- Cleanse, manipulate, and transform data using programming and scripting to support model training and validation.
- Automate validation tests to boost accuracy and efficiency in analytics processes.
- Validate and test models to ensure performance, accuracy, and compliance with policies.
- Promote automation and self-serve analytics to foster a culture of informed decision-making.
- Monitor tool performance, facilitate user acceptance testing, and resolve related issues.
- Integrate data from multiple sources to streamline reporting processes and enhance analysis capabilities.
- Develop visualizations and reports that effectively communicate insights across various audiences.
- Support the development of strategic analytics initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop training and instructional materials to empower end-users on reporting tools and self-serve analytics.
- Document operational procedures related to data analysis and reporting activities.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure their analytical needs are met effectively.
- Provide technical and consultative support while working independently on complex situations.
- Take on broader responsibilities as assigned to contribute to ongoing business analytics efforts.
Desired Skill-Set
- Over 5 years of relevant experience in data analytics, with proven expertise in data preparation, analysis, and visualization.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and SAS (certified preferred), with substantial experience in statistical tools and techniques.
- Relevant degree in Statistics, Data Science, Analytics, or related fields.
- Deep knowledge of data mining, storytelling, and visualization techniques.
- Solid understanding of measurement methodologies like A/B testing and control frameworks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effectively sharing insights.
- Strong collaboration and team skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at various levels.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Demonstrated data-driven decision-making expertise.
Nice To Have
- Prior experience in home financing, including HELOCs and mortgages, especially within a banking environment.
- Experience with RESL analytics.
- Previous experience leading projects across teams or departments.
- Familiarity with R, Python, PowerBI, and advanced PowerPoint presentation skills.
- Broader banking or financial services background.
Education
- Post-secondary education in Business, Economics, Computer Science, Finance, or related disciplines.
