Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for an HR Analyst. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to day-to-day operational support while expanding your expertise in payroll compliance, reconciliation, and international expatriate support. The role is a hybrid work arrangement, providing flexibility with four days in the office and one remote day per week.

Pay rate range (CAD): $26.88/hr – $32.25/hr

Responsibilities

  • Balance all year-end tax slips and complete government filings
  • Support expatriate assignments and globally mobile employees
  • Participate in internal and external audit processes
  • Provide customized payroll and year-end tax slip support for executive leadership
  • Manage end-to-end payroll processes for the Board of Directors
  • Identify, review, and prepare POIs for reconciliation
  • Review and correct taxes from retiree demographic reports and US tax data inquiries
  • Respond to employee inquiries via ServiceNow cases
  • Ensure the integrity of Workday HR/Payroll data through testing and validation
  • Assist in preparing manual and amended tax slips as needed
  • Support year-end payroll accounting data for accuracy and compliance
  • Recommend and implement process improvements for efficiency and accuracy
  • Manage adjustments and resolve issues with business partners
  • Process quarterly director fees payroll and manual off-cycle processing
  • Run and resolve Pier/Variance reports to maintain data accuracy
  • Handle daily administrative tasks related to expatriate payroll and shadow payrolls
  • Balance payroll tax slip data and ensure timely inquiries resolution

Desired Skill-Set

  • Working knowledge of Workday reporting (minimum 3 years)
  • Experience supporting expatriate and globally mobile employees (minimum 3 years)
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian federal/provincial and U.S. payroll regulatory requirements (CRA, Revenu Quebec, IRS)
  • Proficiency in report reconciliation principles (minimum 3 years)
  • Excellent Excel skills with strong analytical ability
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organization skills

Nice to Have

  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation or working towards it
  • Previous experience working at a large organization
  • Prior banking or financial services experience
  • Familiarity with Year-end Workday processes and resolution management
  • Experience with payroll reconciliation tools and procedures

Qualifications

  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation or working towards completion
  • 3-4 years of experience supporting payroll operations, compliance, and reconciliation
  • Strong understanding of Canadian and U.S. payroll legislation and regulations
  • Proven ability to manage data integrity and process improvements
  • Previous experience working with large teams and complex payroll systems
  • Bilingual communication skills are a plus
