Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for an IT Developer specializing in VBA and JavaScript, with a strong background in SQL, HTML, CSS, and experience supporting production tools used across operations and delivery teams. The position offers an exciting opportunity to support existing systems, develop new process improvement tools, and collaborate within an agile team committed to delivering high-quality solutions that meet business needs.
Responsibilities
- Support and maintain existing production tools utilized by Operations and Delivery teams.
- Collaborate with business partners and delivery teams to design, develop, and implement new automation and process improvement tools.
- Write, test, debug, and document code in VBA, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, ensuring adherence to coding standards.
- Utilize browser developer tools to analyze and understand web API methods for effective integration.
- Manage and optimize SQL databases to support application functionality.
- Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and documentation to facilitate knowledge transfer.
- Support post-deployment support and troubleshooting, escalating issues as necessary.
- Contribute to an Agile development environment using tools like JIRA and Confluence.
Desired Skill-Set
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a developer with proficiency in VBA, SQL, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Strong SQL database knowledge and experience working with SQL databases.
- Advanced skills in VBA, MS Access, and Excel for data management and automation.
- Proven ability to code with quality from scratch and update existing codebases.
- Experience using browser dev tools to analyze web APIs.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and interpersonal, with stakeholder management experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Nice to Have
- Experience working within an Agile environment, utilizing JIRA and Confluence.
- Familiarity with automation tools and processes in a financial services setting.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle principles, including testing, debugging, and documentation.
- Ability to work comfortably under supervision, following pre-established guidelines.
- Experience supporting or developing enterprise-grade applications with an emphasis on code quality and documentation.
This position offers the flexibility to work on a hybrid schedule, combining remote work with onsite presence at a modern office location. The initial contract is scheduled through March 2027, with extension and potential conversion possibilities.
