Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for an IT Security Analyst – PAM / Infrastructure. This position offers an exciting opportunity to support the privileged access management (PAM) function within the IAM security infrastructure, focusing on Unix and database environments. The analyst will play a pivotal role in reviewing, validating, and governing privileged access requests, ensuring adherence to stringent security policies, principles of least privilege, and regulatory requirements. This is a project-funded role with potential for extension or full-time conversion, providing a pathway for career growth in a dynamic, security-focused organization.
Responsibilities
- Review and validate privileged access requests for Unix and database systems (Oracle, SQL Server), ensuring compliance with security standards and privilege policies.
- Support IAM controls by onboarding and managing privileged IDs using vaulting solutions like CyberArk and HashiCorp.
- Collaborate with operations, infrastructure, and security teams to troubleshoot and resolve access-related issues.
- Act as a security gatekeeper, ensuring all privileged accounts and access are appropriate, not overprovisioned, and aligned with least privilege principles.
- Manage and track access requests and provisioning workflows through ServiceNow, ensuring timely approvals and compliance documentation.
- Support infrastructure components underpinning major projects, including AI initiatives, by safeguarding backend Unix/Database environments.
- Maintain awareness of industry best practices and integrate them into existing privileged access control processes.
- Contribute to audit readiness by ensuring all privileged access activities meet governance and security standards.
Desired Skill-Set
- 2–4 years of experience with Unix systems; understanding of core infrastructure concepts.
- 2–4 years of database infrastructure knowledge, focusing on privilege models and access principles—hands-on provisioning is not required.
- 5–7+ years of experience in information security, with a focus on identity and access management at the infrastructure level.
- Strong understanding of privileged access management principles and security compliance requirements.
- Experience interpreting access requests, validating them against security policies, and ensuring least privilege controls.
- Familiarity with security tools such as CyberArk and HashiCorp Vault.
- Knowledge of infrastructure components (Unix, databases, backend systems).
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud security platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure IAM/security services.
- Previous work in large enterprise environments or from a Big 5 bank setting.
- Exposure to automation or scripting to support security functions.
- Understanding of project support involving AI or other advanced initiatives.
