Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Java Developer – Kafka/NiFi who will have the opportunity to use the newest Nifi technology to optimize trade platforms on a global scale. The ideal candidate will have an opportunity to join a flexible team that utilizes Agile best practices to ensure project deliverables continue to be met. The individual will be working with the Trade Surveillance Project that will leverage the banks Data Lake for vendor applications to create new data feeds utilizing Kafka and Nifi technology. The successful candidate will have work well under pressure and be adaptive to changing project needs and someone who is open to learning and functioning with new technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze highly complex business requirements; generate technical specifications to design or redesign complex software components and applications
  • Coding with Java and enhancing existing codes with Java platforms
  • Act as an expert technical resource for modelling, simulation and analysis efforts
  • Leverage industry best practices to design, test, implement and support a solution
  • Assure quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area
  • Be flexible and thrive in an evolving environment
  • Adapt to change quickly and adjust work accordingly in a positive manner

Desired Skill-Set:

  • 8 + years of experience building new codes and enhancing existing Java Codes (min 1 year with Java 1.8)
  • 3 + years of experience with Agile Methodology throughout the SDLC Cycle
  • Financial Industry experience
  • Recent Financial Industry experience
  • Strong communication skills required to clearly articulate technical requirements in sprint teams

Nice to Have:

  • Recent Trade / Compliance Capital Markets projects are highly desired and will be prioritized
  • Unix / Python Shell Scripting experience
  •  Experience with Kafka / Elastic Search and NiFi technology is a big plus and will be prioritized
