Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Jr. Bilingual Payroll Analyst who will administer, validate and enter all needed information in the HR/Payroll System for the processing of the weekly pay for all employees. The ideal candidate must comply with all administrative processes and procedures in order to deliver weekly payroll on time and validate that the expected results are satisfactory. The individual must ensure that the payment process, statutory and other remittances, and GL account analyzes are completed.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and adequate pay remittance for all Canadian employees paid through the system
  • Answer customer inquiries promptly, courteously, and professionally in accordance with service level agreements
  • Perform needed analysis to resolve customer issues in-depth and comprehensively
  • Use payroll knowledge to advise on issues and processes
  • Educate and support external clients and partners to ensure that everyone understands the impact of their work on employee's pay as well as the quality of the service to be delivered
  • Perform the processing, monitoring, and verification of requests. Set and communicate priorities so that all tasks are completed on time
  • Validate the information entered by the different partners and, if necessary, reach out in order to obtain additional details
  • Maintain and comply with current operational procedures and, if necessary, suggest or update payroll standard operating procedures
  • Ensure and protects payroll data integrity
  • Perform established monitoring and controls and highlight common types of errors by reporting the results to the Payroll Supervisor
  • Submit any significant deviations from the standards and policies in force to the immediate supervisor
  • Perform autonomous administrative follow-up of employee files
  • Help on any special projects or mandates assigned
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accepted payroll activities and processes, applicable policies, and regulatory and legislative requirements applicable to payroll
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with key clients, business units, and support groups by offering support, sharing knowledge, or offering any other possible form of assistance

Desired Skill Set:

  • Post-secondary diploma in administration or an appropriate field
  • 1 year of experience as a payroll technician or as a benefits technician
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft software’s / proficient in Excel
  • Bilingual (French and English, written and spoken)
  • Autonomy and organizational skills
  • Teamwork skills
  • Customer-oriented
  • Ability to manage priorities

Nice to Have:

  • Payroll certification from the Canadian Payroll Association
  • Knowledge of VIP
