Working with one of our top financial institution clients, this role calls for a Junior Developer (JavaScript, SQL, VBA, Automation) and offers an exciting opportunity to work on impactful projects within a leading organization. In this position, you'll support existing production tools, collaborate with business partners, and contribute to the development of new process improvement solutions in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and debug code for automation tools and process enhancements, ensuring alignment with project specifications and quality standards.
  • Support existing production systems used across Operations & Delivery teams, providing ongoing maintenance and improvements.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and delivery teams to understand requirements and develop effective solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, ensuring coding standards are maintained and best practices are followed.
  • Document code, processes, and system changes thoroughly in the project repository.
  • Assist in knowledge transfer sessions to ensure smooth onboarding for new team members and seamless transition of responsibilities.
  • Contribute to an agile environment by supporting rapid deployment of tools and workflows, adhering to project timelines.

Desired Skill-Set

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with VBA, SQL, JavaScript, and related development tools.
  • Proven ability to write, update, and debug code from scratch, with strong coding quality.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and experience working with SQL databases.
  • Proficiency in HTML/CSS and JavaScript for web-based automation, including using browser dev tools to analyze web APIs.
  • Extensive experience with Visual Basic, MS Access, and MS Excel.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and interpersonal, to liaise with stakeholders and team members.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working within an Agile environment is a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with Agile tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
  • Experience participating in code reviews, debugging, and documentation practices.
  • Prior experience working in a financial services environment or supporting operational functions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid (remote/hybrid) setting with a personable and team-oriented attitude.
