Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a L&D Designer-Vyond. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing high-quality eLearning solutions and blended learning programs that support business objectives and enhance employee capabilities. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex projects that deliver significant business value, primarily in a remote setting within Ontario.
Pay rate range (CAD): $51.06/hr – $61.27/hr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop comprehensive learning and development programs, including instructional frameworks, content mapping, storyboards, and prototypes across various delivery methods.
- Oversee the creation of engaging multimedia content, such as eLearning modules, simulations, videos, and interactive performance support tools, ensuring alignment with brand standards and accessibility principles.
- Interpret instructional design and SME input to produce visually compelling graphics, animations, and formatting that enhance learner engagement.
- Collaborate closely with course owners, SMEs, and instructional designers to capture and translate course knowledge into effective learning solutions.
- Assess business needs, scope project requirements, and recommend the most effective blend of instructor-led, virtual, and digital learning formats.
- Contribute to project planning and scoping, establishing standards for learner experience to achieve learning outcomes.
- Ensure all designs promote diversity, inclusion, and accessibility, including testing assets with tools like JAWS and following WCAG 2.1 guidelines.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and support to team members, fostering a collaborative environment for continuous improvement.
- Participate in meetings, review sessions, and project updates, maintaining clear communication with internal stakeholders and SMEs.
Desired Skill-Set
- Minimum of 8+ years of instructional design and development experience in a corporate or financial environment.
- Proven expertise in building complex Level 4 simulations, assessments, and multimedia content, with a focus on eLearning development.
- Advanced proficiency in Articulate Storyline 3 or 360, Rise 360, and other eLearning authoring tools.
- Strong graphic and creative design skills, with experience in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, InDesign), Camtasia, and video production tools like Premiere and Vyond.
- Excellent command of Microsoft Office applications, particularly PowerPoint and Word.
- Deep knowledge of web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1), including testing and designing fully accessible content for screen readers and keyboard navigation.
Nice to Have
- Portfolio showcasing instructional design and multimedia development work.
- Experience working within the banking or financial services sector.
- Familiarity with virtual learning platforms such as Adobe Connect, WebEx, and MS Teams.
- Knowledge of performance enablement solutions, program design, and learning analytics.
- Experience with additional graphic design tools and video editing software.
