Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Principal Platform Engineer (OTT / Video Streaming/ GCP). This position is a senior-level, hands-on technical leadership role responsible for architecting, delivering, and optimizing mission-critical cloud infrastructure across AWS and GCP. The ideal candidate will drive strategic initiatives, oversee infrastructure reliability, and mentor engineering teams to support a high-performance video streaming platform.
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and implementation of scalable, resilient cloud infrastructure on AWS and GCP
- Drive evolution of CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins X, ArgoCD, and GitLab CI
- Establish and enforce Infrastructure as Code (IaC) standards with Terraform and Pulumi
- Provide expert guidance on containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes
- Lead evaluation and adoption of new infrastructure technologies
- Drive security hardening, vulnerability management, and infrastructure compliance
- Perform root cause analysis for critical production incidents to ensure rapid resolution
- Define and monitor infrastructure KPIs and SLAs for optimal performance
- Mentor senior infrastructure engineers and influence architecture decisions
- Collaborate with global teams across architecture, product, engineering, and operations
Desired Skill-Set
- 8–12+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering
- Principal-level hands-on technical contributor
- Expertise in cloud architecture on AWS and GCP
- Strong knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
- Deep experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Pulumi
- Proven experience building CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows
- Strong programming skills in Go, Python, or Java
- In-depth understanding of microservices, distributed systems, and high-availability architectures
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as MySQL and Couchbase
- Ability to mentor engineers and influence architecture decisions
- Excellent communication skills
Nice to Have
- Exposure to Azure cloud platforms
- Knowledge of service mesh technologies
- Experience supporting large-scale video streaming infrastructure
- Familiarity with FFmpeg, open-source media encoding, and global video delivery pipelines
- Background in telecommunications, media platforms, or large cloud providers like Amazon or Google
Critical Validation Points
- Hands-on experience with global video streaming infrastructure and high-volume data transfer
- Strong understanding of VPC networking, global load balancing, and multi-region cloud architectures
- Experience managing massive media workloads and media encoding technologies
What Will Close This Role
The ideal candidate will demonstrate deep expertise in GCP with strong AWS migration and architecture capabilities, along with extensive experience with Pulumi-based infrastructure. Hands-on knowledge of video streaming pipelines, large-scale distributed infrastructure, and the ability to lead as a technical mentor are essential.
