Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Scrum Master who will be joining a team of solution developers and architects that focus on integrating data and systems that enables the successful automation of MIS reporting and data analytics for the Global Compliance function. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with new tools for data & compliance while working on interesting surveillance/monitoring projects that will allow them to gain strong experience that can be applied throughout the banking industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of project management from discovery through delivery implementation and stabilization
  • Create and manage schedules, budgets, quality, communication, resource and risk management plans
  • Provide the direction required to meet the project objectives and commitments
  • Analyze and make decisions on projects, considering project benefits, scope, cost, schedule, and quality
  • Prepare reports regarding the status of the project
  • Ensure appropriate management of stakeholders throughout the project
  • Lead Scrum ceremonies such as daily Scrum stand-up meetings, sprint planning and retrospective sessions
  • Work with the Business Product Owner to define the scope for MVP and subsequent releases
  • Collaborate with the PMO to ensure compliance with project standards, processes, tools and methodology
  • Work with the applicable teams to ensure compliance with engagement processes and business partner requirements
  • Plan, initiate and execute the successful deployment of releases to all environments in accordance to release management standards
  • Work closely with IT Service Desk and Business Partners to manage effectively and efficiently resolution of incidents related to your portfolio of applications
  • Oversee integration of the agile team’s deliverables with the project at large, as well as how deliverables may have touchpoints in other domains
  • Ensure all groups are being provided with timely and accurate project information such as reporting of project status, issues, risks
  • Meticulous and disciplined in capturing meeting minutes including decisions reached / discussion topics and action items
  • Rigorous and methodical in follow up on outstanding action items
  • Strategic and timely in escalations when required

Desired Skill-Set:

  • 7+ years of experience in leading a range of mid-size to large initiatives with above-average levels of complexity and business criticality
  • Experience with managing team size of 10 to 13 members and budgets of $2MM and higher
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in Project Management and managing IT projects/programs
  • Experience with SDLC
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with data integration/data management initiatives
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience or comprehensive knowledge of Agile/ Scrum project management methodologies and tools including JIRA/setting up JIRA boards
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with delivery and product support management: experienced in the delivery of new projects as well as operationalizing for steady-state support
  • Experience with financial management and a strong understanding of key concepts of financial processes such as budgeting, forecasting, status reporting, etc.
  • Facilitate and encourage collaboration in a cross-disciplinary Scrum team environment, across multiple projects and multiple locations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (working directly with the Business to ensure their requirements are addressed & communication delivery/status)
  • Strong time-management skills
  • Ability to navigate through uncertainty and lead change within the organization

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with CA PPM for time tracking
  • MS Lync for hosting / chairing virtual meetings
  • ServiceNow for raising service requests for other groups to action
  • Managing SharePoint portals / confluence sites for documentation and knowledge base
  • Google Cloud
  • Hadoop
  • Experience on projects involving data lake a plus
  • PySpark
  • Kanban
  • PMP, Agile/Scrum (a plus), ITIL foundations (a plus)
  • FI/Banking Experience (Big 5 Banks is preferred)
