Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Senior Security Specialist- Physical Security and offers a unique opportunity to manage crucial security initiatives while leading a talented team. This position involves overseeing physical security engineering and developing security strategies that safeguard enterprise operations. As a senior security specialist, you will play a pivotal role in managing technical teams, driving project delivery, and ensuring compliance with security standards across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of security professionals, overseeing both project and business-as-usual (BAU) activities related to physical security engineering
- Coordinate and facilitate regular team meetings, addressing challenges, initiatives, and stakeholder inputs
- Provide proactive guidance on security best practices and process improvements
- Engage with stakeholders through intake calls and collaborative meetings to onboard new business initiatives
- Plan, implement, and audit security policies and standards to mitigate vulnerabilities and ensure compliance
- Oversee risk analysis, disaster recovery planning, and security event simulations
- Maintain awareness and promote organizational security practices at all levels
- Support the development and enforcement of security procedures, continuously reviewing for improvements
Desired Skill-Set
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT security, with a strong background in security engineering and management
- Proven leadership experience managing technical teams and driving security projects
- Advanced knowledge of physical security technology and related security standards
- Solid understanding of enterprise IT systems, security policies, and compliance frameworks
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with high stakeholder engagement capability
- Experience with agile project methodologies and technology delivery
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to evolving security challenges
Nice to Have
- Prior experience in physical security technology within financial services or banking
- Certification in cybersecurity or related fields
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and supporting security policies and standards
- Experience conducting audits, risk assessments, and disaster recovery exercises
- Background in leading enterprise-level security initiatives and educating all organizational levels on security best practices
