Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Solutions Architect – Infrastructure. In this position, you will lead the development of end-to-end infrastructure solutions that underpin critical technology initiatives, ensuring they meet operational, security, and architectural standards within a dynamic banking environment. This opportunity offers exposure to high-visibility projects, collaborative cross-functional teams, and potential for extension or permanent placement.
Pay rate range (CAD): $79.71/hr – $95.65/hr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of comprehensive infrastructure solutions supporting enterprise projects in technology operations and application development.
- Incorporate engineering, operational, security, and architectural requirements into finalized designs.
- Evaluate platform options, including sizing, resiliency, disaster recovery, and data management considerations.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, application developers, security teams, and project managers to shape effective infrastructure strategies.
- Document infrastructure components, including compute, storage, networking, middleware, security, and cloud services, along with associated cost estimates.
- Ensure all solutions adhere to enterprise standards, regulatory policies, and compliance requirements.
- Support project implementation by resolving infrastructure design challenges during deployment phases.
- Partner with enterprise architecture, security (ISRM), platform managers, and engineering teams to confirm standards and best practices are followed.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Engage with engineering, security (ISRM), architecture, cloud, and platform teams to incorporate necessary expertise into design processes.
- Work closely with project teams to support seamless infrastructure implementation and integration.
- Provide technical guidance and advisory services to application development and business stakeholders.
Client Engagement
- Translate business needs into scalable infrastructure designs that support application and operational requirements.
- Assist in defining solution options, including cloud, data center, and network strategies.
- Represent infrastructure considerations during requirement gathering and design review sessions to ensure alignment.
Desired Skill-Set
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise infrastructure solution design (middleware, networking solutions).
- 5+ years of security technology experience, including firewalls, Akamai, and perimeter security services.
- 5+ years’ experience with data center infrastructure, including Oracle, MS SQL, or Databricks.
- Proven expertise with cloud platforms, particularly Azure.
- Solid understanding of middleware fundamentals, networking basics (routing, subnets, DNS, load balancing), and data management.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Analytical problem-solving capabilities and adaptability to evolving project needs.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience working within a financial institution.
- Exposure to Agile and DevOps methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise-scale security solutions.
- Cross-disciplinary infrastructure experience.
