Sr. Java Fullstack Developer-Angular/Banking

Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Software Developer 3 – Java to join a collaborative Agile delivery pod supporting a large-scale platform modernization initiative. You will contribute to the development, testing, documentation, and support of backend or full-stack solutions that enable secure data sharing, real-time events, customer consent, and digital experiences.
Pay rate range (CAD): $59.48/hr – $79.66/hr
Responsibilities
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including stand-ups, sprint planning, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
- Develop, test, and support Java code or configuration changes in accordance with established SDLC and quality standards.
- Deliver scoped features, enhancements, and automation aligned with platform priorities.
- Collaborate with engineers, business systems analysts, quality engineering, and product partners to deliver backlog items from development through implementation.
- Create and maintain technical and operational documentation, including architecture notes, runbooks, onboarding materials, and API documentation.
- Improve platform quality and reliability through testing, automation, monitoring, and technical debt reduction.
- Investigate and resolve development or production issues while maintaining attention to performance, stability, and maintainability.
- Contribute to delivery timelines by producing high-quality work and meeting agreed-upon milestones.
- Participate in knowledge transfer and onboarding activities to support effective integration with existing applications and processes.
Desired Skill-Set
- 5 or more years of experience developing with Java.
- 5 or more years of backend or full-stack development experience.
- Experience working with Jira and Confluence.
- Practical experience working in an Agile delivery environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Self-motivated, well organized, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail, adaptability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Angular.
- Experience with NoSQL or Cosmos DB.
- Experience within banking or financial services.
- Exposure to enterprise-scale platform modernization initiatives.
