Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Sr. Product Owner – Low Latency Trading Applications. This position involves leading the development and strategic direction of high-performance, low latency electronic trading systems within the FICC (Fixed Income, Currencies & Commodities) eTrading Technology team. The ideal candidate will blend deep technical understanding with strong product management skills to deliver scalable, compliant, and optimized trading solutions.
Pay Rate (CAD): $140.00/hr – $180.00/hr
Responsibilities
- Own the full product lifecycle for electronic trading applications relevant to FICC markets.
- Develop and manage the product roadmap aligned with trading, regulatory, and technical objectives.
- Collaborate closely with trading desks, developers, quants, compliance, and regulatory teams to define workflows and delivery priorities.
- Drive initiatives around auto-coding, auto-hedging, and the development of electronic pricing infrastructure.
- Lead the evaluation and integration of vendor technologies and design robust system integration strategies.
- Build proof-of-concept solutions, including UI prototypes and workflow automation.
- Influence engineering teams on architecture decisions, resource planning, and technical direction.
- Balance long-term system architecture goals with short-term business delivery needs.
- Leverage AI capabilities within Bank’s environments to enhance development workflows and trading processes.
Desired Skill-Set
- Extensive experience in capital markets, especially within FICC trading and electronic platforms.
- Strong understanding of low latency trading systems, pricing infrastructure, and execution flows.
- Proven ability to lead product development for auto-hedging and pricing applications.
- Comfortable working with high-performance, real-time systems architecture.
- Experience with system integration, vendor evaluation, and API design.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, SQL, and Spark.
- Knowledge of Databricks, React, AG Grid, and messaging systems like Aron or similar messaging buses.
- Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration technologies.
- Effective communication skills across technical and business teams.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience designing or supporting market connectivity platforms.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements specific to electronic trading.
- Experience integrating AI or machine learning technologies into trading applications.
- Familiarity with cloud-based platforms and data engineering tools.
- Prior involvement in trading system optimization for latency and throughput.
