Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Sr. Product Owner (Banking /Money Movement). This position involves managing high-value projects such as money movement and cheque deposits, leading cross-functional teams, and delivering data-driven solutions to complex challenges. The successful candidate will play a key role in defining strategies, prioritizing backlogs, and communicating effectively with stakeholders to ensure project success.
Pay rate range (CAD): $72.46/hr – $86.95/hr
Responsibilities
- Lead multiple Agile pods, including developers, QA, and business members, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Manage product backlogs, roadmaps, and ceremonies to track project progress and priorities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define product visions, and translate data insights into actionable plans.
- Identify process gaps, recommend improvements, and implement data-backed solutions to optimize transaction processes.
- Facilitate communication across teams, presenting insights clearly and confidently during meetings and updates.
- Drive capacity planning and strategy development to ensure timely delivery of high-value projects.
- Oversee project timelines, dependencies, and deliverables, maintaining a calm and focused approach under pressure.
- Utilize Jira and Confluence for managing documentation, tasks, and workflows efficiently.
Desired Skill-Set
- 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or equivalent role within the financial industry.
- Proven success managing multiple cross-functional teams or pods.
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency with Jira and Confluence tools.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage complex projects under tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated emotional intelligence, calmness under pressure, and strategic thinking.
Nice to Have
- Experience with high-transaction or money movement projects.
- Familiarity with banking operations such as cheque processing and digital money movement solutions.
- Prior experience with large-scale financial initiatives or regulatory projects.
- Knowledge of Agile practices and ceremonies.
