Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a UX Designer/Design Researcher and offers an exciting opportunity to influence impactful digital solutions within a collaborative and dynamic environment.

This position involves leading and supporting all phases of design research, from identifying opportunities to delivering actionable insights that drive user-centered design. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand complex challenges, develop research strategies, and champion human-centered principles to create meaningful experiences for end-users.

Responsibilities

  • Design and plan research activities, including defining research questions, selecting appropriate methodologies, and creating detailed research plans.
  • Manage participant recruitment via internal panels, vendor partnerships, or external sourcing, ensuring diversity and alignment with study goals.
  • Conduct various research methods such as ethnography, user interviews, diary studies, usability testing, card sorting, and experiments.
  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to uncover insights, trends, and user needs, then translate these findings into clear, compelling reports.
  • Present research findings through experience maps, personas, usability reports, and other formats to inform and inspire design teams and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with product owners, designers, developers, and business partners to understand their research needs and provide supportive insights.
  • Develop research roadmaps aligned with project objectives and stakeholder priorities.
  • Oversee vendor relationships and manage external research partners as required.
  • Support and mentor interns or junior researchers, fostering a learning environment.
  • Contribute to the development of research strategies and best practices to ensure high standards of Human-Centered Design within the organization.
  • Promote awareness and understanding of research methodologies internally and externally, showcasing expertise and expanding the research community.

Desired Skill-Set

  • Deep expertise in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Psychology, Anthropology, or related fields, with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven ability to design and execute comprehensive research studies using varied methods such as ethnography, interviews, usability testing, and experiments.
  • Strong analytical skills, proficient in qualitative and quantitative data analysis to generate actionable insights.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills for clear reporting and stakeholder presentations.
  • Effective project management and multitasking abilities, with experience balancing multiple research projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with research tools such as Figma, Confluence, and others.
  • Knowledge of inferential statistics and comfort with statistical analysis software (e.g., SPSS, R, SAS) is a plus.
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, Anthropology, or related disciplines.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and build strong stakeholder relationships.

Nice to Have

  • Experience mentoring or supporting interns and junior team members.
  • Prior work in the financial services industry.
  • Familiarity with innovative research labs or emerging technologies.
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical analysis and experience applying research findings to product strategy.
